Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) released the following statement after Congress passed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement:

“After a hard-fought battle alongside incredible community leaders, I am pleased that the necessary funding for the Highway 99 widening project has been restored and over $10 Million has been secured for Highway 46. These projects will help mitigate the public safety risk on these dangerous roadways and help improve our transportation corridors."

With the recent attacks on our agricultural industry with Gov. Newsom’s administration suing over biological opinions that would have brought more water to the Valley, it is more crucial than ever before to recognize the benefits provided by the USMCA.

Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) issued the following statement after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that a deal has been reached on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“The Friant-Kern Canal plays a key role in the economy of the Central Valley, including providing water to one million acres of farmland in Tulare and Kern counties. Restoring the canal will support our farmers who put food on America’s table, increase our water supply, and benefit the environment by helping recharge our aquifers."

California is one of the least business-friendly and most unaffordable states in the nation. Starting January 1, 2020, living and working in California is going to get harder because of a new Democrat-authored law.

Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) released the following statement after the California Supreme Court issued a written ruling in the case of Patterson v Padilla.

Under the directive of Governor Newsom, the Department of Conservation announced several new actions which include a moratorium on new permits for steam-injected oil drilling in California. This extraction method is crucial for the oil industry in Kern County.
