SB 806 would repeal AB 5 (Gonzalez, 2019) and replace it with a new broad, flexible and workable ABC test for determining independent contractor status, a test which supports more worker freedom while saving business to business relationship opportunities.

SB 875 creates a permanent exemption for interpreters and translators from the provisions of AB 5 (Gonzalez, 2019), a bill which revokes their freedom and choice to work as freelancers.

SB 224 will help law enforcement agencies combat agriculture theft. The bill will create a new section in the Penal Code for theft of agricultural property, which will identify the theft of agriculture equipment, or property including tractors and all-terrain vehicles, as a separate crime.

SB 238 will conform California’s test for determining employment status for purposes of wage orders to the test established by the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

SB 683 will increase transparency and accountability for the state’s 21 regional centers.
